About US

A charitable trust to help out Cancer patients.
Providing awareness and treatment of cancer in rural areas.

CHANDRAKANTI DEVI CANCER FOUNDATION runs a free cancer clinic organized on the first Saturday of every month at Narayan Medical College (Jamuhar). Here free consultation with treatment planning is done and if needed, for further advanced treatment at AIIMS, all the assistance is provided to patients. Those patients, who require regular check-up after treatment completion, don’t need to go to bigger cities every time as the same service is available at their doorstep with the help of volunteers. Through the foundation monthly public cancer awareness programs are held at schools, colleges and also at government health centers for students, grassroot workers and general public. Here audio-visual presentations are made about the basic knowledge regarding cancer and how to detect it early as well as to make the young generation aware about the bad effects of tobacco and Gutkha Masaala.

    Follow up after treatment completion

Most of the patients require more than one modality of treatment (Surgery, Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy). Having completed one modality does not mean that you have completed the whole treatment. Please make sure to consult your doctor for the plan of future treatment and follow up. Sometimes it is possible to complete the remaining treatment at local level(like chemotherapy or radiotherapy) . Facilities for chemotherapy are also available at Dehri-on-Son and you can take radiotherapy either in Patna or Varanasi depending on your convenience.

You can go back to your home town and continue to visit the free cancer clinic at Narayan Medical College hospital every month or whenever asked by treating doctor. For any help in between you can contact at helpline number. You may be asked to visit AIIMS at certain intervals . It is very important to stick to the follow up schedule. For all your follow up visits to Delhi you can avail the rail concessions provided by Indian Railways.

After completion of the treatment during follow up for any emergency and urgent situation you can visit Narayan Medical College hospital or GEMS Hospital (Indrapuri). It is important to request the treating doctor to contact at the helpline for getting the prior treatment brief. This will help delivery of treatment there.
